After the sell-out success of the 2018 Vital Beat Thailand Retreat, Winter gets a WHOLE lot more appealing in June 2019 with a trip to exotic & enigmatic Sri Lanka! Talalla Retreat is a beachfront boutique resort on a pristine, white sandy beach with calm turquoise water, at the southern tip of Sri Lanka, 3 hours south of Colombo. Elegantly designed rooms include open air marble bathrooms, private patios and great views of the lush gardens.

There is something here for everyone, and our 2019 retreat is open to all genders! Talalla Retreat has a 20m freshwater lap pool, three custom built yoga pavilions, spa facilities, surfing classes, and a gourmet open-air restaurant serving the freshest healthiest meals. They also grow organic vegetables for their kitchen. And while the theme of our retreat is self-care, down time, and yoga, everything is always optional – so if you want to sleep in and skip morning yoga, you do you baby!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your day begins with an energising vinyasa flow in our private yoga shala. The practice is modifiable for all levels, sets the tone for your day and can be taken at an intensity that suits your personal needs.

Then we meet for our nourishing communal breakfast. After breakfast, there is an abundance of free time to explore the resort, connect with the group, take surf lesson, & attend optional workshops run by your co-facilitators, Brenna & Kaye. This is your chance to rest and reset – there are 0 expectations to how you spend this time.

Lunch will either be at the resort, or out on a scheduled activity, followed by more free time (a treatment at the spa, perhaps? or maybe even a cheeky wine!)

The evenings are a time for nurturing as we indulge in a daily yin & meditation practice in our private shala, followed by a fresh, delicious dinner.

What you do after that is up to you – straight to bed, meditate under the stars, dance up a storm!

The Luxury Accommodation

We are so privileged to be able to offer you two room styles, with options for either a magnificent open-air nature experience, or a luxurious private room, depending on your preferences and needs. Luxuriate in your own private Seaview Villa or Deluxe Room, or book with a friend or your beloved to share the experience with. Availability is limited for each room type and your preference is only confirmed when deposit is received. Do not delay!

Then sip on a king coconut and enjoy the gentle sea breeze as you savour gourmet Talalla flavours in the stunning open-air restaurant pavilion. Vibrant tropical fruit, crisp seasonal fresh vegetables and fresh local seafood feature prominently in our traditional Sri Lankan delicacies and international favourites.

Talalla has a low-mileage approach to food, sourcing local ingredients and produce from nearby markets and fishing villages. Much of the resort’s herbs and spices are grown organically on the property, while other seasonal ingredients are freshly sourced daily from local markets and fishermen.

Sit just steps from the ocean while you dine on your choice of fresh fish tacos, mahi mahi burgers, island style fried rice, and more!

Seaview Villa

These luxurious rooms are nestled right on the forefront of the resort grounds with never ending views of the lush tropical gardens and blue ocean. Open air bathrooms keep the tropical feel going inside the villa, providing beautiful natural lighting and views of the coconut palms.

Ground floor villas have air-conditioning and are furnished in beautiful, traditional Sri Lankan style.

First floor villas offer a traditional and back-to-nature experience. These beautiful open air pavilions offer a private balcony to take in the views, and have ceiling fans for cooling. These are available as double configuration only (one large bed).

Deluxe Villa

The deluxe villa rooms include open-sky bathroom and lounge area, sitting area, patio or balcony, personal safe, wardrobe, ceiling fan, mosquito net, toiletries, shower and private en-suite.

Ground floor villas are ideal for those who want be surrounded by nature with opportunities to retreat in seclusion. These villas are completely enclosed and include a rustic four poster bed, beautiful open air ensuite bathroom and a front deck.
First floor villas are the ideal room for anyone who loves open spaces, fresh air and a beautiful connection to nature. The open canopy rooms feature a beautiful four-poster bed, open air balcony and view through the palms.

We have payment plans! Yep, you can “Afterpay” your Sri Lanka retreat!

Secure your place by paying your deposit, and we will be in touch with a registration form – here you can nominate your room of choice & configuration, as well as elect to enter an instalment plan. Instalment plans are set up through Paypal, and automatically debit from a card of your choice at regular intervals, super simple! The retreat cost for instalments is slightly higher, due to transaction fees charged by Paypal.

Paypal instalment plans are for the TOTAL retreat cost, not per person. Sooo if you book a twin share for you and a friend, payment plans are for the total room cost (less deposits) and not split between the two guests. Retreat guests are responsible for arranging their own split. If you are not entering a payment plan, separate payments will be accepted, via bank transfer.
